Vicki Schuhardt - Chair
Vicki has extensive experience in program and financial management and has worked in government and statutory organisations. She has successfully led teams in the health sector for primary healthcare delivery, grant reform and indigenous health. She has a broad range of skills, including business process review, change management, project management and stakeholder engagement. Vicki joined HerSpace in 2018 due to a compelling desire to support women to achieve freedom from sexual exploitation. Having worked in the public sector for over 20 years, Vicki sought a way to combine her passion for women’s rights with her financial expertise. She fundamentally believes in the HerSpace model of care and the value of the support that HerSpace provides.
Megan Tucker - Company Secretary
Megan is a strategic advisor with a background in higher education, law and justice and the not-for-profit sector. She has a diverse range of experience in project management, governance, community engagement, stakeholder management and communications. Megan’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology. Megan has been a Board Director and Secretary with HerSpace since 2016 and is proud to be part of an organisation that works to empower women and effect transformative social change.
Catherine Cooney - Program Development
Catherine is an experienced community sector consultant. She is currently working for the Centre for Excellence in Child & Family Welfare in the Research to Practice Hub. She works on Evidence-Based Program Implementation and Common Practice Elements. Catherine has primarily worked in direct service provision for vulnerable women and girls, developing and delivering positive psychology and life skills programs. She has a Bachelor of Arts (ANU – Sociology/History), a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (UMELB), Masters of Social Work (CSU), Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Cert IV in Training & Assessment. Catherine is committed to using evidence to make the lives of vulnerable women safer and fairer. Catherine is also an experienced Board and Management Committee member of various organisations.
Domenic Vetere - Legal
Domenic is a qualified lawyer, Chartered Accountant and Chartered Company secretary. He has considerable experience working for a variety of ASX listed and other public companies. In addition, he has over 15 years of experience working in senior ATO roles as a compliance director, managing the ATO’s risk and compliance strategy and working with industry and other Government agencies on various initiatives to improve corporate governance systems. Domenic has made significant contributions in delivering compliance and corporate governance outreach programs to developing countries through the OECD. He also currently holds a number of director, company secretary and legal advisory roles in various not-for-profit organisations.
Beenu Fernando - Philanthropy
Beenu joins the HerSpace Board with over 18 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, having worked in a number of key organisations, across a broad range of areas from Retail and Private Banking to Wealth. Beenu holds and Executive MBA from AGSM and brings to the Board her strong banking and strategic management experience.
Marc Rousseau - Technology
Marc is a results-oriented, driven and effective strategy and Agile delivery expert with over 10 years' experience in digital, hands-on team management and business transformation across a wide range of industries. Marc's clients have ranged from sports organisations, airlines, technology startups, commercial and consumer retailers, international banks, B2B providers, film studios and charities.
Marc has delivered countless digital products ranging from websites to mobile native applications.
